If you want to improve upon your own writing, then read more, this is what many of the great authors recommend (and keep doing), becoming immersed in great new books to improve upon their own talent and boost their inspiration too. But even if you’re not a writer, who doesn’t love curling up with a great new book? The great news is, there are plenty of services out there which will send you books on a regular basis, most of which are curated by other book lovers and will get you looking at either old classics you may have missed, favs from familiar authors or new titles hot of the book press. There are even some services which will box up your new title along with other goodies to enhance your reading experience. So, if you haven’t thought about a book subscription service, here are some you might want to take a look at first. One – Once Upon a Book Club (Adult Edition) This service offers classic books packaged with three to five wrapped gifts, a printed quote, discussion questions and read dates so that you can read in the same timeframe as others (for live discussions). The gifts within the box have details on as to when they should be opened, this is at certain part of the book as you read it, which makes for a great interactive experience. The service currently starts from $64.99 Two – The Bookish Shop Every month they send out a newly released book and themed items to you, offering options for both adult and young adult too, they mix up what’s sent each month to ensure you never double up on the themed elements. They offer options which include goodies in with the book such as t-shirts, stationery, candles etc., also, there are options for packages where the book has been signed by the actual author too. The service starts from $35 and has multiple options available. Three – Introvert’s retreat With a great name for the business, this service aims to take the awkwardness of going to a book store, they send out packages which include a book, self-care items (such as candles, bath salts, handmade soaps and a sweet treat). You can either have a book of your own choice or a surprise pick instead, and if you don’t like the book, they’ll send out a rescue book of your choosing instead. Prices start from $49.99 Four – Kindle Unlimited For those of you who prefer eBooks, Kindle Unlimited has got to be a brilliant choice, from just $9.99 per month (with the first month free), this gives you access to over 2 Million eBooks, from best sellers to the classics. It also allows you access to some magazines within the subscription too. You can cancel at any time (currently) and you can switch between reading an audio with their Audible Narration feature. Prices from $9.99 Five – Book of The Month Each moth they feature 5-7 new books, you can then decide if you want one or more, they’ll then send it to you. They’ve been going for almost 100 years and have a great record of picking great reads, they get early releases and are usually cheaper that buying directly too. You can also skip a month and cancel at any time. Prices start from $49.99 for three months Six – My Coffee and Book Club If you love a good cup of coffee with your read, this is the subscription for you. The package includes two hardback books from the genre of your choice (or a surprise genre) and a bag of gourmet coffee to enjoy with them. Prices are from $31.99 per month Seven – Used Books Monthly This is such a wonderful idea, we love the thought of books being read by more than one person (and if you have ever rummaged through a secondhand bookstore, you’ll know what we mean). This service offers a selection of two books each month from your choice of genre (or a surprise one) and has an option for a four book per month package too. Prices are from just $8.49 per month for 2 books or $16.99 for one month for four books.
